What should you look for when buying your first responder tactical gear?

Tactical gear is important. It protects, keeps you safe and helps you in your line of work. Without Tactical gear, you couldn’t do your job properly and that could be disastrous. There is a vast array of suppliers out there and you would do well to check them out and be aware of the product range. Many of the manufacturers and suppliers of Tactical gear will be familiar as they sell other ranges of equipment and apparel such as sports wear and specialist outdoor wear. In fact, many of the suppliers started out by making sports wear and have moved on to supplying Tactical gear.

First and foremost, your Tactical gear has to do the job it’s advertised to do. If it says it will keep you cool in the heat, then it should perform exactly that way. Tactical gear is anything from a badge holder to a pair of socks and everything in between. There is also Benchmade, and this company started off making knives of superior quality and has now diversified into a wider range of Tactical gear including pens. Then there is Zak Tools that make entry tools such as rescue saws and window punches, which are perfect for SWAT teams to gain entry.

There are some very well know names in the business of supplying Tactical gear to first responders, Smith & Wesson make handcuffs, torches and knives as well as their more famous guns. Hatch is also a well-respected name in the Tactical gear market place and they supply a range of gloves, body armour and headgear. Tufloc is another name you may be familiar with, and they manufacture a range of vehicle racks for safe storage of guns and other items. Another very well known name is Uncle Mikes, a company dating back to 1947 that have a well-deserved reputation for quality in the gun/shooting accessory market.

Hunters and professional people alike need Tactical gear, and you can kit yourself out from head to toe literally with some top brands. If you do need Tactical gear, you need it all under one roof or website and that will be the challenge for you. Some online retailers specialize in one type of Tactical gear but won’t carry others, so you need to shop around and research some before you find what you need.
