Are people over sensitive about police brutality?

I mean… I know it happens and everything but I’ve seen many people judge police officers simply for being police officers. I always felt that most officers are just trying to do their job and get people to uphold the law for others’ safety. Honestly, how many times have you seen videos or whatever of someone being arrested and them complaining about police brutality seemingly because they were angry they got pulled over, arrested, etc. I’m open to opinions and eager to hear other input.

I would also like to clarify that I mean do people exaggerate the percentage of police brutality. I know police brutality is serious but I think people say it a lot when it doesn’t actually apply. I know, I know, I worded the question poorly.

That depends upon what you’re asking. If you’re asking about true "brutality" then no. There is no excuse for brutality, ever. We all have an expectation as American citizens to be protected FROM our own government. However, if you’re talking about the absolute morons out there who claim that every time someone gets hit with a baton, or pepper sprayed, or tasered that it’s automatically "brutatlity", then well that’s different. We also have an expectation as American citizens that our government will do what it can to protect us from the scumbags out there. Some people just don’t want to go to jail, no matter how bad what they’ve done is. There’s an old saying. If you don’t want to get wet, then don’t jump in the pool. If you don’t want to get your a** kicked then don’t fight the police. It’s pretty much common sense. You can’t expect anyone, police or citizen, to put themselves in danger just to keep from having to use force against someone. There are very, very, very, very, very few cases of true police brutality in this country thankfully. In 10 years of policing, just in fights, I’ve cracked my collar bone, had 14 stitches in my forehead, broken one or more of the metacarpal bones in both of my hands on 5 seperate occasions, and had a severe laceration on my right hand from getting bitten by a guy who didn’t want to go to jail for stealing the donation jar for a kid with cancer at a gas station, and had bullets whizzing by my head on 2 occasions. Not even counting all the torn pants, scrapes, bruises and scratches. Every single one of those incidents could have resulted in 0 injuries to anyone if the scumbags in question had just decided to go to jail quietly.
