The continuing political instability in Thailand is hurting the country’s economy, which relies heavily on tourism dollars.
The crucial industry makes up five per cent of GDP and employs some two million Thais, but officials are expecting four million fewer tourists this year.

…
But they’re …
…
But they’re NOT doing anything to mess with the country. They’re just there to spend a holiday.
It’s not like those people in the interview expressed any intent to break any laws or something.
Any why are you even talking about the tourists like that? The civil unrest that went on had NOTHING to do with them! It was a domestic issue among the Thais. Tourists ought to be respectful, but it’s not as if they’re citizens in places they go to.

Have fun? To what …
Have fun? To what extent? Being a tourist doesn’t give you the right to screw up someone else’s country, or allow yourself to think you can get away with things you normally wouldn’t in your own country. When you walk into someone’s home, you should respect their laws and wishes just as you would want someone to respect yours. To tourists, its all about fun, but what about the people who have to clean up after their mess and witness unequal treatment from the law?

Oh c’mon now. …
Oh c’mon now. They’re tourists, they’re there to have fun and, as it was said at the beginning of the report, they contribute a lot to the local economy. Why should they involve themselves in the country’s politics? That’s a matter that the Thais themselves need to settle. No one else.
