I was thinking about this issue recently while traveling in two different countries: Austria and Algeria.

Austrian police are kind of stern, but they have a very good reputation. You never hear about Austrian cops getting busted for “brutality,” and Austrian SWAT teams don’t just “raid the wrong house.” Austrian cops are serious professionals. Those sorts of dumb mistakes are extremely rare.

As a result, Austrians seem way more relaxed as a society. Very few Austrians carry handguns on them. They don’t fear their police force, and so, there is no need to “raise their game” to match the cops.

Now, in Algeria, basically everyone packs all the time. I even saw elderly old ladies with two handguns strapped under tearaway fabric on their burqas. They were totally covered in those black covering things, but they were still strapped.

Cops in Algeria have an EXTREMELY brutal reputation. They are known to torture suspects in their police stations. They plant evidence ALL THE TIME. They sometimes use sniper rifles to simply pick off enemies at 500 yards instead of even trying to make an arrest. They have even used ROADSIDE BOMBS to wipe out enemies. The cops – using roadside bombs!

Anyhow, American cops are sort of in-between Austrian cops and Algerian cops. They stress out the American people to some extent, and as a result, a lot of Americans feel the need to “step up their game” and carry firearms as well.

Does this theory make sense?

I’ve been accepted into college next semester and plan to do the law enforcement course they have there. I’ve noticed though that the media portrays so many cops as horrible corrupt people. Like some videos show “police brutality” but they do not show the whole video on how the guy just tried to kill a police officer, or any other acts that the person did to where the cops had to use force to apprehend the suspect. Why does the media portray so many officers like this? When I am a police officer i want people to feel safe when they see me, not scared that I’m going to do something horrible due to what they see on tv and such.

A group of young people were biking along a street when officers ran them down, slamming one suspect to the ground and beating him with batons. The video is said to have been taken two days ago, at the peak of the violence in the country. Police have promised an investigation. Last week Congressman Rohrabacher and Democrat Congressmen William Delahunt and Silvestre Reyes put forth a bi-partisan resolution to release Compean and Ramos.But it only took a few days for the wind to change direction:And to add insult to injury, according to Congressmen Dana Rohrabacher, the Congressional Hispanic Caucus is BLOCKING his resolution to release Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos, the brave border agents who were wrongfully convicted and imprisoned for what Congressman Tom Tancredo described as “doing their job.”"The [Democratic] leadership has gone along with the Hispanic Caucus… Instead of being proud Mexican-Americans who are defending our border, the Hispanic Caucus is portraying them as simple, brutal cops who are committing police brutality.”

Supporting a resolution to release Compean and Ramos should be a no-brainer>

On the one hand, there’s Compean and Ramos, two United States citizens of Hispanic descent
who proudly and bravely served their country and tried to secure our borders.

On the other hand, there’s Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, a criminal alien drug smuggler whose repeated LIES SENT THESE TWO BRAVE HISPANIC BORDER AGENTS TO PRISON!

So why would the Hispanic Congressional Caucus — if Rohrabacher is right — actively oppose coming to the aid of these brave former border agents of Hispanic descent
?Let’s call the Hispanic Congressional Caucus on the carpet for their bigotry against these brave United States citizens of Hispanic descent
and let the Members of House Judiciary Committee know in no uncertain terms exactly want the American people want!
Call the Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus on the carpet. Tell them that it is shameful that they would go out of their way to turn their backs on Compean and Ramos, two brave United States citizens of Hispanic descent
who were trying to apprehend a criminal drug smuggler ! Demand that the House Judiciary Committee vote on the Delahunt-Rohrabacher-Reyes resolution IMMEDIATELY and bring it to the floor of the House for a vote.

And while you’re at it, ask President Bush to keep a promise he made to the American people a YEAR AGO. Tell him to review the case and PARDON COMPEAN AND RAMOS!

Because the hispanic caucus, as their name suggests, is a bitterly racist orginaziton which hates America and Americans. Ramos and Compean were trying to defend America against the racist messycon border criminal invasion. This is something the bigots in the hispanic caucus cannot let stand. Good luck

What do you do when you have to buy something or indulge in your favorite pastime – Shopping! Of course, the most obvious answers are – Head to the nearest shopping malls or e-shopping sites, from where you could enjoy the best products on display and buy them as well. For cops though, it is slightly different! Though the concept of shopping still applies for them, it could be a bit less of fancy and a bit more on the functionalities of whatever they decide to shop. And the GO-TO place for them would be a tactical gear store!

Some statistics on tactical gear stores

To be honest, there aren’t many tactical gear stores around in any major city in the United States of America. In New York City for example, we could find only one tactical gear store after hunting for about 5-6 blocks. Compare this with the presence of about 4 shopping malls (small and big), and you would know of the difference. Even on the Internet, the number of e-shopping sites selling other products of fashion and general use outnumber tactical gear stores by a big way.

Does this mean tactical gears, often sold by tactical gear stores are in less demand? On the other hand, have a lot of other stores started selling tactical gears?

If stores have started to integrate tactical gears into mainstream fashion, people could be in for a big ride. The only reason we say that is because cops would be the only people who could possibly realize the importance of tactical gears. Thus, we believe that tactical gears need to have their own niche and even if the public wishes to buy tactical gears, they should only flock to the tactical gear store and nowhere else.

Why do cops love shopping at tactical gear stores?

Cops absolutely love tactical gear stores only because each and every item they see there put up for sale is so clearly explained that there is no scope for any ambiguity at all. Everything about the tactical gear that the cops wanted to know – Technical specifications, functionalities and benefits are comprehensively explained by most tactical gear store websites! The rigorous explanation of all features helps cops make the right decision in buying the right kind of tactical gear for them.

What you would find in a tactical gear store is a variety of tactical gears put up for sale. By variety, we don’t mean different products of the same class. For example, log in to a tactical gear store online and you will probably see everything from apparel to boots to holsters and armament systems put up for sale. Obviously, the need of presenting cops with a one stop shop where they could shop for their tactical gears, is increasingly being felt.
