The Antarctic voyage November 29 December to 3 2010.Dal Blog U. S. Ambassador Huebner: At the Polo sud.Si is growing here. This morning we noted in our survival kit for extreme cold, after our friend Dr. Lisa Clough of the National Science Foundation at the rink, climbing on a Hercules LC-130, 3 hours and flew inside the South Pole. For decades, the Hercules fleet has been the backbone of the reliability program U. S. Antarctica, and enjoyed sitting on the flight deck of the old war-horse with the pilot and co-pilot, as we climbed in Antarctica.
At the South Pole.

It just keeps getting better down here. Early this morning we suited up in our extreme-cold survival gear, followed our friend Dr. Lisa Clough of the National Science Foundation down to the ice airstrip, boarded an LC-130 Hercules, and flew 3 hours inland to the South Pole. For decades the Hercules fleet has been the dependable backbone of the U.S. Antarctic Program, and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the flight deck of the old workhorse with the pilot and co-pilot as we soared into the Antarctic interior.
